PNWC Update

Dear PNWC families,

It is with great regret that we must inform you that we will not be able to hold Pacific Northwest Camp in 2020.

For the last few months, we have all found ourselves in challenging times. As the Pacific Northwest Camp Committee, we have been in prayer about camp for 2020.  We have read the state guidelines and path to reopening.  We have been in communication with our partners at Cedar Springs Camp.  We have consulted with people who have knowledge beyond our own to chart a path and make the best decisions we can for this year’s camp.

In light of these considerations, and after much prayer and conversation as the PNWC committee, this was a very difficult decision for us to make.  Those of you who know us know that we love camp and look forward to being with you, the campers and staff, every summer as we seek to grow closer to our gracious and loving Lord.  At this time, we felt like there was no reasonable way to hold camp.  The guidelines, as we understand them, would have made camp difficult to operate.  Our hosts and partners at Cedar Springs would have had an added burden that we could not justifiably ask them to carry at this time.  We also know that many of you are concerned about sending your children to camp and risking possible infection, even with every precaution and safeguard in place.

We are heartbroken to make a decision like this but rest assured that we are planning on holding PNWC in the summer of 2021.  This fall, after we have worked out the details with Cedar Springs, we will announce the dates for next year’s camp.  We also have a few ideas on how to honor our Citation achievers this summer.  As we get more clarity on what the state mandates allow us to do, we will finalize and share those plans with you.

We will soon begin the process of issuing refunds to those of you that have already paid.

If you have any questions, we are ready to answer them as best we can.  We continue to ask for your prayers, not just for camp, but for those around us who are struggling and for our leaders to have the wisdom to guide us through this difficult time.

If you have any questions you can contact us directly at [email protected]

Blessings,

Larry Rice
